For the last 6 months, I’ve been studying product-led SEO.
If that is your first time hearing that term it’s essentially focusing on user intent and user experience vs traditional SEO of keywords, volumes, and backlinks.
That’s not to say one is better than the other (depending on your service/market/niche). But product-led SEO feels like the right way to do SEO (at least to me). It feels more genuine and less like gamifying a system with ever-changing rules.
I left Carrot (carrot.com) earlier this month. I am figuring out what I want to do next. In the meantime, I built a website to practice this Product-Led SEO strategy. I am taking everything I learned in the last 10 years at Carrot and building an affiliate site using product-led SEO. You can check it out below ⬇️

Hypothesis: by breaking down Carrot’s product by user-intent I can create high-value pages that rank.
In addition, I will use common product-led SEO strategies like
1. Comparison pages
2. Free tools (leveraging AI for this and am currently building)
3. Focus on the bottom of the funnel keywords like “How to, How I”
4. Case studies – if I can get in touch with real estate investors
This is more of a test and learning exercise than anything. But I’ve been surprised with how fast Google is indexing this site and starting to see impressions increase in Google Search Console.
